The engine always operates within OEM limits, such as exhaust gas temperature, boost pressure, and air temperature. When gas is combusted, unlike diesel no solid particles are left over from the combustion process enabling cleaner operation requiring equivalent or lower maintenance. Engine power when operating on gas is comparable to diesel operations.
Theoretically, a maximum 70% gas substitution rate or diesel displacement rate (DDR) is technically possible at 80% load. For mining operations, the overall average substitution rate is about 35-40%. The exact diesel displacement percentage depends on the duty cycle of the mine trucks, temperature of LNG during loading and engine health of the mine truck.

There is no impact of ambient temperature on Onsite LNG Storage or on Onboard LNG Storage system. The technology is designed to operate in both very high and very low ambient temperatures. LNG storage tanks are double walled storage tanks.
The Air Gas Mixture is so lean that it would not combust even in the presence of an active flame.
The pressure of the Air Gas Mixture is increased during the compression stroke and the presence of a pilot fuel (diesel) allows the Air Gas Mixture to stroke.
LNG is considered a clean fuel due to its high purity and its ability to burn entirely without residue. Switching to LNG can lead to an average 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from total hydrocarbon combustion.
The payback period varies based on factors such as the price difference between delivered LNG and diesel, running hours, and the type and size of the truck(s).
